Peloton is a not-for-profit organisation which is a volunteer- and artist-run initiative. It's core activities are the presentation and critical promotion of contemporary visual art exhibitions in its exhibition spaces. Peloton focuses on supporting Sydney and NSW visual artists within a broader program that includes exhibitions of interstate and international artists to foster dialogue between different artistic communities with the aim to create professional networks and creative partnerships. Peloton's core philosophy is based on connecting the local Sydney artscene of both emerging and established artists with that of interstate and international art community concerns and critical contexts. Peloton seeks to provide stable, flexible and professionally managed exhibition and project spaces, which attract high calibre emerging and established artists and diverse audiences. Peloton provides a conduit between the art schools and professional practice providing opportunities for recent graduates as well as established art practitioners, including academics, to stage experimental exhibitions and projects without commercial constraints.
