Last week they listened to a podcast on Emergence theory. They were curious about the complex patterns and systems that they spoke of, and how they arose out a variety of simple interactions.
dot dot dot ... is a process based project that is generated by its participants. It began with an exhibition at Hell Gallery in 2009, where Lisa and Sam invited friends and colleagues to participate in a show thats basic premise was examining 'like'. From this comes part 2 where participants invite participants, friends become lovers, exhibitors collaborate and collaborators invite strangers. Hierarchy, connectivity, curator, artist, writer and authorship are blurred (not obliterated) to examine the social boundaries of 'like'.
“The show is like a explored and expanded form of a type of gift giving / exchange - a shared space for liking (even if this means not liking) - examining or maybe, trying to dissolve (to some degree) hierarchies of taste. What is generosity? What does it mean? What is inclusive, what is exclusive? Rather than it being 'conceptual ideas' explored aesthetically, I guess what they were doing is enacting it, playing it out - seeing what happens." Harrison George Ford
