Lisa Jones is a Sydney based artist. She has been a finalist in the City of Hobart Art Prize, Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing, Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award (Grafton), the ABN AMRO Emerging Artist Award and the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize. Previous exhibitions include UTS Gallery, Tin Sheds Gallery, SH Ervin Gallery, Conny Dietzschold Gallery, Orange Regional Gallery, Form Gallery (Perth), George Petelin Gallery (QLD), Blindside (Melbourne), and the School of Fine Arts in Canterbury (NZ). She has been a director of Peloton since 2006.

Lisa Jones' sculpture explores the 'absent' body and its relationship with the everyday. Recently she has been using medical imaging first-hand in order to explore aspects of the body and incorporate into her work. She also photographs unusual objects from the everyday domestic world and juxtaposes these with images from the Antipodean natural world or the human skeleton. Jones states, "I like Julia Kristeva's notion of 'the abject' - the beautiful and the repulsive - that's how I ended up working with conflicting aspects of human bodies."

Jones enjoys playing with the Renaissance idea of the 'microcosm and macrocosm,' from the anatomical to entomological, the inside and outside. Jones uses these to create intricate patterns. Delighting in the tactility and materiality of sculpture, Jones' work can end up spilling down from the gallery walls and out onto the floor as extensions of the interior building structure itself. Jones has a preoccupation between 'the white cube' versus the 'natural order' of things, and between high design and the lowest common denominator in the art of the everyday.
