Profile

Julia Rochford is a Sydney based artist in her final year of a Masters of

Fine Arts at Sydney College of the Arts. Julia situates her practice within

the pre-filmic stage of production, utilising film, site specific

performance and installation to explore the terrain of the cinematic. The

natural landscape has been a consistent feature throughout Julia¹s practice

as an initial site for the production and evocation of possible and future

worlds. Consequently, her practice operates a zone between the real and the

possible, moving through the physical environment and beyond the frame of

the screen towards the non representational.
